The Gathering of Things Alludes to the Presence of What Has Already Gone is an installation that bridges memory, absence, and continuity. Presented at the closing of the Rasgo exhibition, it expands on Self-Portrait or The Fox and anticipates the film The Gathering (A Reunião). Combining handmade objects and personal relics, the work recreates the emotional landscape of characters shaped by time, loss, and transformation.

A reunião das coisas alude à presença do que já se foi
“The Gathering of Things Alludes to the Presence of What Has Already Gone” was an art installation presented at the closing of the Rasgo artist residency and exhibition. It was a continuation of the photographic work “Self-Portrait or The Fox”, shown at the opening of the same exhibition. The installation materialized the setting—the environment inhabited by the characters from the project “O Nata” and the film “The Reunion”, which was developed later. All of these projects are interconnected, each one unfolding into the next, culminating in the film “The Reunion (A Reunião)”, completed in 2021.
The setting consists of a combination of created objects (masks, ceramic biscuits) and a collection of old objects from my own home, evoking memories and people who are no longer present.
